Archiving Policy

Archiving and Long-Term Open Access Preservation Policy

The Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Applied Information Systems and Technologies in the Digital Society” aims to ensure long-term, uninterrupted access to published scholarly content. To achieve this, the Journal implements appropriate technical solutions that guarantee secure backup, preservation, and open accessibility of its publications.

Storage Locations

Each issue of the Journal is published in both print and electronic formats. The electronic version is made available in open access on the official Journal website and is archived in the institutional repository of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which is integrated with the National Repository of Academic Texts.

In addition, electronic versions of all issues are deposited in the platform “Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine” of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.

To comply with international best practices, the Journal also supports participation in digital preservation systems such as:

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe);

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN),which ensure decentralized and secure long-term storage of digital content.

Archiving Frequency

Archiving of Journal content is carried out after the publication of each issue, ensuring continuous and systematic preservation of scholarly materials.

Licensing and Access

All archived materials remain subject to their original licensing terms. This guarantees that users may access and use the content under the same conditions as at the time of publication.

The Journal ensures persistent access to publications through:

·      assignment of DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers);

·      stable metadata distribution via indexing systems (e.g., Crossref, Scopus);

·      long-term availability through repository storage.

Policy Updates

The archiving policy is reviewed at least once every two years to ensure compliance with current international standards and best practices in scholarly publishing and digital preservation. Any updates are published on the official Journal website.
