Publications. Formatting of Publications in Journals and Collected Volumes.
Elements of Article Formatting
1. Text Formatting Requirements
The manuscript must be submitted as a WinWord file (*.doc, *.docx); line spacing shall be single; the first-line indent of each paragraph shall be 0.5 cm.
Depending on the thematic focus and content of the publication, the text should be prepared according to the following parameters:

2. Requirements for Figures
2.1 Processing Scanned Images
Preparation of scanned images in graphic editors (e.g., Adobe Photoshop):
scan images at a resolution of 300–600 dpi (dots per inch); this option is configured directly in the scanning dialog box;
remove all text elements from the scanned figure;
clean the image by removing noise, spots, unnecessary marks, etc.;
save the processed image in the following formats:
*.jpg – for black-and-white printing; *.tiff – for color printing.
2.2 Images from the Internet
Images obtained from the Internet must meet the quality requirements for printing reproduction (image resolution not less than 300 dpi). Such images are usually available from specialized websites (image banks).
Images may be used only in compliance with copyright requirements (references, copyright notices). Images that do not satisfy the above requirements must be replaced or removed.
3. Formulas
Formulas should be inserted into the text using MathType 6.0 or Microsoft Equation Editor.

3.3 Formatting of Symbols in Mathematical Formulae (Standard Requirements)
Letters of the Latin alphabet denoting physical quantities shall be italicized, whereas Greek letters shall be presented in upright type. However, certain quantities are conventionally represented in upright Latin type. These include:
similarity numbers – Bi (Biot), Ku (Kirpichev), Pe (Péclet), Re (Reynolds), etc.;
trigonometric, hyperbolic, inverse, circular, and inverse hyperbolic functions;
temperature measured in Kelvin (K) or degrees Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (°F), and Réaumur (°R);
conventional mathematical abbreviations such as maximum and minimum (max, min), optimal value (opt), constancy of a quantity (const, idem), limit notation (Lim, lim), decimal and natural logarithms and logarithms with arbitrary bases (lg, ln, log), etc.;
chemical elements and compounds.
4. References
According to the decision of the Coordination Center for the Publication of the University Scientific Periodical Series (https://sciencejournals.knu.ua/pro-nas/koordynatsiynyy-tsentr) and the recommendations of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), the list of references must be compiled in accordance with the APA Style References, 7th Edition (https://www.grafiati.com/uk/info/apa-7/).
References should not be numbered and must be arranged alphabetically.
A DOI must be provided for each source whenever available.
5. In-Text Citation Format
In-text citations shall be provided in parentheses and include:
the author's surname (for a single author) or the first words of the title (for works without authors), followed by the publication year and, if necessary, page numbers after the abbreviation “p.”;
the surnames of all co-authors (if there are no more than three authors), followed by the publication year;
only the surname of the first author followed by “et al.” and the publication year (if there are more than three authors);
the surname and initials of the author and the publication year (if the article cites works by authors with identical surnames published in the same year);
the author's surname, the year of the first publication, and the year of the subsequent publication (if several works by the same author published in different years are cited);
the author's surname, publication year, and a lowercase Latin letter after the year (if several works by the same author were published in the same year);
the number or title (if no number is available) of a part of an electronic source (volume, section, chapter, etc.), indicated after the publication year when pages are not numbered.
Citations of several sources simultaneously should be separated by semicolons and arranged alphabetically according to the first letter of the author's surname or the title of the work for sources without authors.
The majority of citations in a publication should refer to authoritative sources published within the last 5–7 years.
At least 30% of the references should consist of articles published in high-ranking journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.
Self-citations should not exceed 15% of the total number of cited sources.
6. Warnings
The following are considered unacceptable:
submission of manuscripts that do not comply with the publication requirements and formatting standards established by the Publishing House of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
submission of texts generated or translated using automatic machine-translation software without appropriate editing and verification by the authors;
submission of unprepared, incomplete, or insufficiently revised manuscripts (“raw” materials) without an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure Statement.
Author Guidelines and Ethical Requirements
1. Academic Integrity
Submitted manuscripts must be original and free from plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or any other form of research misconduct. All submissions are subject to similarity checks using specialized plagiarism-detection software.
2. Duplicate Submission
A manuscript must not be simultaneously under consideration by another journal, nor may it have been previously published, either in whole or in part, in any other publication.
3. Authorship
Only individuals who have made a substantial scholarly contribution to the research should be listed as authors. Practices such as guest authorship, gift authorship, and ghost authorship are considered unethical and are strictly prohibited. A manuscript may have no more than four authors. An individual author may publish up to two different articles in the same journal issue. The length of a manuscript must be between 10 and 20 pages.
4. Use of Artificial Intelligence
If Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, or similar systems) have been used in the preparation of a manuscript, authors must disclose such use in an appropriate statement within the submission.
Artificial Intelligence systems cannot be listed as authors of a manuscript.
Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, originality, and scientific validity of all content produced with the assistance of AI technologies.
5. Conflict of Interest
Authors are required to disclose any financial, professional, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence, or be perceived to influence, the results or interpretation of their research.
6. Research Data Availability
Authors should be prepared to provide the underlying research data, data-processing methodology, software code, or other supporting materials (where applicable) upon request by the Editorial Board, reviewers, or readers in accordance with the journal's data-sharing policy.
7. Self-Citation
Excessive self-citation is discouraged and may be considered a form of citation manipulation. The Editorial Board reserves the right to request justification for an unusually high number of citations to the authors' own publications.
It is recommended that self-citations not exceed 10–15% of the total number of references.
8. Ethical Considerations in Research
For studies involving human participants or animals, authors must confirm compliance with applicable ethical standards, including obtaining informed consent from participants and approval from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board, where required.
9. Retraction and Corrections
The Editorial Board reserves the right to retract, correct, or issue expressions of concern regarding published articles in cases of significant errors, violations of research integrity, ethical misconduct, or other circumstances that may compromise the reliability of the published record.
10. Sanctions for Misconduct
In cases of confirmed violations of publication ethics or research integrity, the Editorial Board may:
reject the submitted manuscript;
retract a published article;
prohibit the authors from submitting manuscripts to the journal for a specified period;
notify the authors' affiliated institutions and/or funding organizations of the misconduct.
Editorial Disclaimer
The Editorial Board does not guarantee acceptance of any submitted manuscript. Publication decisions are made solely on the basis of independent peer review, scientific originality, methodological rigor, scholarly significance, and relevance to the aims and scope of the journal.
