The article discusses methods and means of creating software for digital image processing that effectively improve the quality of visual data and prepare it for further analysis. The results of the development of the ‘Digital Image Processing’ application package are presented, which implements a set of algorithms for preliminary and frequency processing, including methods for improving contrast, amplitude and frequency filtering, noise removal and contour selection. Considerable attention is paid to the use of simulation modelling, which allows the generation of deterministic and stochastic images of various structures for testing algorithms. The proposed approach combines spatio-temporal and spectral methods, which helps to improve the accuracy and reliability of digital processing results. The developments can be used in medical diagnostics, industrial control, scientific research, and machine vision systems.
