Abstract

The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of implementing warehouse management information systems (WMS) in small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). The functional architecture of modern WMS solutions is studied, key differences between classes of systems are identified, and criteria for selecting software are determined in accordance with the scale and specifics of the enterprise's activities. A comparative analysis of six common systems on the Ukrainian and CIS markets was conducted. It was found that the implementation of WMS in the SME segment increases the accuracy of inventory accounting by 15–35%, reduces order fulfillment time by 20–40%, and reduces operating costs for storage by 10–25%. The main barriers to implementation were identified and a set of measures to overcome them was proposed.
